They say sex sells.

I'd say some men sell in black and white.

This man in particular. Andrew Cooper.

Who said bad boys were unattractive?

UCASYMPTOMS

Okay, so I'm starting to feel my first after-application-has-been-sent-in spooks. And they're freaking me out.
I was done with my history essay about 59 minutes before the deadline, and more than that, I actually started working on it this week-end, meaning that I took several days to get it done and not just one evening. Kudos to me! Both these happenings are new to me! Well. Tomorrow I have an in-class essay in French meaning that I should prolly be sleeping right now. In fact, that's what I will do!
UCAS UCAS UCAS UCAS UCAS UCAS UCAS UCAS. Okay, I'm brainwashed.

Beauté des poupées

Poupée De Cire Poupée De Son - France Gall

Don't ask me why, but the first word that came up in my head when I saw her was "beautiful". I think it's because she has this original kind of beauty, plus the fact that she was an icon of the 60's and thereby the pictures that come up are usually arranged in that stereotypical kind of hippie/classical-way of the 60's. Hope you get what I mean. This song is by the way a song I've heard many many times in my life without really knowing what it is called or who sang it, and then yesterday I happened to stumble over it by chance.
Thank heaven for Spotify!

Hey, shut the fuck up boy!

Lay It Down - Peter, Bjorn and John

Okay, I don't mean to exaggerate, but this is probably one of my favourite songs of all time. It has very simple, but very perfect lyrics. Little did I know about the band when I suddenly realised, they were the ones who had created what to me seemed a song of torment a few years back. In 2006 to be more exact. Having this song coming up on MTV every five seconds was a complete and utter nightmare!

Young Folks - Peter, Bjorn and John

Something must've happened somewhere along the line, because with time, I actually started to appreciate this song. Funny how these people have created both something I have hated, and something I have loved. Funny how my taste in music has changed over time as well, just thought this demonstrated a very clear example of that.

Midnight Cockney Rhyming Slang

Monday 17 January 2011

Sneezing (bread) unrest!

Well, I am currently supposedly studying, but given my own mental and physical tiredness it's not really going as efficiently as desired. I am pondering on whether or not I should give the cockney speaking a try.
(which I for your information am required to know fluently for English class tomorrow - funny those teachers of ours, don't you think?)

My plan is however to create a swell list of words used in the London Cockney-hoods and then just swing my accent as well as I can. Either that, or I'll just repeat the phrase "I'd loike sum waw'ah me daw'ah" which I am proud to say I can now manage in the accent. Wish me good luck!

Random Midnight Thought.

I really should be sleeping, but, where's the fun in that?

Sunday 16 January 2011

I guess the change in my pocket wasn't enough, I'm like, fuck you!

Fuck You - Cee Lo Green

This weekend has passed pretty rapidly. I spent both relevant parts of Friday and Saturday with two really good friends of mine. They are the reason to why I picked this song as a signifier of my weekend. They make me feel the same way as this song makes me feel. Whatever problems I meet - "I'm like, fuck you!".
Pretty amazing feeling actually, so thank you! :)

I guess now I know why people never take photos when in the cinema.
Haha, it must however be admitted that it has its own particular charm.

After having seen Easy A, a quite fun teenage-directed film we headed towards Mc Donald's, where I was surprised by their menu. Please, if you can explain to me what "Hash Brown" is, give me a notification, cause I am pretty curious, and the sales clerk failed to explain it to me. She seemed as surprised as I was.

I don't give a damn about my reputation

Bad Reputation - Joan Jett & the Blackhearts

Such a typical High School Movie song, right? But I like it though. Go Joan!
