Symbolic meanings

I've wanted my tattoo for such a long time now, and for about 4 years now I have also known exactly what I want to ink my body with. Today Jess and I entered this geek-shop, randomly looking about in Old Town, and Jess found a heavy book about symbols and signs and different things. It only got me thinking more about my future tattoo. What kind of a feather do I want to go with my G-clef?

This is Ed Westwick's (also known as Chuck Bass) tattoo - I actually had no idea he had one before I googled it. It's a little too big for my taste, but heck. He's attractive still.

(PS. I do not own the rights of any of the pictures in this post, nor of any of the celeb-pictures on my blog)

"Native American wisdom relates to the feather as an embodiment of bird spirit. For example, eagle feathers had special meaning and were given to warriors as a tremendous honor of bravery and courage. It indicated nobility of the heart and allowed the recipient to take flight easily on journeying (both in a spiritual sense and a life-journey sense)." - "Also in the Native American Indian culture, feathers represented the power of the thunder gods, along with the power of air and wind."

"In dreams feathers mean travel or the ability to move more freely in life." - "A more expanded view of feather tattoos deal with thought, intellect and the higher mind."
